Extra tourism funding to assist droughtstricken Central NSW

first_img<a href=”http://www.etbtravelnews.global/click/1e293/” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://adsvr.travelads.biz/www/delivery/avw.php?zoneid=10&amp;cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE&amp;n=a5c63036″ border=”0″ alt=””></a> Source = e-Travel Blackboard: J.L Central New South Wales will be receiving a $44,650 boost in tourism funding as part of a government program, Minister for Tourism Jodi McKay announced earlier this week.Speaking at the ‘Beyond the Drought’ seminar in Forbes, McKay said the additional funding was part of the NSW Government’s Travelling Experts Seminar Program.“The additional funding will assist Central NSW to stage another 16 business workshops similar to today’s event” she told tourism operators, councillors and farmers.“These events provide an opportunity for residents, including farming families and businesses, to work together with the tourism industry, take a whole of community approach and showcase the region’s visitor experiences”The Beyond the Drought seminar was one of the first of its kind to be held in the State addressing the decline of tourism in drought affected communities, in particular, the Lachlan and Riverina regions.In 2009, Central NSW welcomed 3.9 million domestic and international visitors last year who spent more than 4.1 million nights in the region. More than $828 million was injected into the local economy.last_img
