Clerys hoping to reopen with a bang for Christmas period

first_imgA MARKETING TEAM has started work on a campaign ahead of the relaunch of Clerys when refurbishment following recent storm damage has been completed.The store has been closed since July, when heavy rain and thunder and lightening damaged the building on Dublin’s O’Connell Street.A spokesperson for the store told TheJournal.ie today that the aim of the new marketing campaign will be to “create a bit of buzz” ahead of the reopening.“Renovations are well underway, they’re progressing very well,” they said. “There’s still not a specific date, they’re not giving that out until they’re absolutely sure but they’re very happy with how the renovations are going.”The spokesperson said all staff who had been laid off since the store closed will come back on board and some are already back for “various projects”.Clerys is keeping schtum about how much of a transformation the 150-year-old store is undergoing as the spokesperson said it is “hoping to open with a bang” in advance of the key Christmas shopping period.“There are no details on how improved it will be, but I will say it’s very busy down there,” they added.Read: Clerys staff told it may be months before store re-opens>Read: Storm-damaged Clerys store to stay closed for days>last_img
