The 200-unit Alexander project is the first downtown development approved since last year’s City Council commitment to build more housing downtown and save residential neighborhoods from rampant growth. The project, at Wilson Avenue and Orange Street, will be built in the art deco style. A bridge will connect the white and silver-colored towers. Councilman Dave Weaver said he wants to see buildings downtown that set the city apart, and the Alexander project fits the bill.
