(Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)Michigan football is riding a six game losing streak to Ohio State, and has dropped 13 of the last 14 in the series, going back to 2004.The Game is one of college football’s best rivalries, but it has been almost completely one-sided, as long as Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer have helmed the Buckeyes.The one win in that time frame came in the year that Luke Fickell served as interim head coach after Tressel’s ouster.Michigan football is having its best year under Jim Harbaugh, and is in line to make the College Football Playoff with two more wins.The first, of course, is next Saturday against Ohio State. The Wolverines are in Columbus against the 10-1 Buckeyes which makes things tough, but they do come into the week as favorites.Michigan opens as a 3.5-point favorite at Ohio State. A blowout loss at Purdue, and sloppy play for much of the last month, definitely doesn’t help. With a win, however, they would win the Big Ten East.The relatively tight line reflects what ESPN’s Football Power Index has this week, as well.That metric has Michigan with a 54.3-percent chance to win the game.After giving up 51 points and only beating Maryland by one point in overtime, it is hard to see Ohio State beating Michigan, which has looked fantastic since the season opening loss to Notre Dame.Recent, and really, not-so-recent, history suggests something different, so something will have to give on Saturdaylast_img read more
